Please join the Literacy Council of Northern Virginia this evening for our One for the Books gala!

Join LCNV, celebrity chef José Andrés, award-winning author David Baldacci, top-ranked financial advisor Ric Edelman, and nonprofit leader Robert Egger in celebrating 50 years of improving our community through literacy!

DATE: WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 3, 2012 │ 6:30 PM – 9:00 PM

LOCATION: George Washington Masonic Memorial, 101 Callahan Dr., Alexandria, VA 22301

ACCESS: Free parking is available. Closest Metro station is King St.

ATTIRE: Business

TICKETS: Event tickets can be purchased in person tonight at the event, starting at 6 pm.

OPPORTUNITIES THIS EVENING INCLUDE:

  • A raffle drawing for a week-long stay in St. John! Please consider purchasing a $50 chance in person this evening!  The lucky winner will be announced tonight.
  • Book signing by José Andrés, David Baldacci, Ric Edelman, and Robert Egger at the end of the event. Books will be available for purchase on site that evening.
  • Adding a leaf on LCNV’s Giving Tree. Leaves on the tree can be purchased for various dollar amounts. Each leaf contains an item that will aid the Literacy Council in its effort to enrich the lives of those who wish to understand, speak, read and write English.
  • And, finally, there will be a “bookshelf” where you can write the title of your favorite book and put it on the bookshelf. What an opportunity to reminisce about all the favorite books you have read and try to figure out the best one! And you can get ideas for future reads from books listed by other attendees.
