LCNV Promotes Family Literacy through Owl PACT

November 22, 2013 at 10:26 AM | Posted in Uncategorized | 1 Comment

LCNV’s Family Learning class at Crestwood Elementary School recently participated in a PACT (Parent and Child Time) activity where the adult students and the children made owls together.  PACTs are one of the pillars for comprehensive family literacy programs.   The owl activity was an enjoyable way for the children and parents to learn together and motivate each other.  Since the owl is Crestwood Elementary School’s mascot the families engaged in Crestwood’s school spirit and learned about the tradition of mascots for schools and other groups.   The smiles on everyone’s faces say it all!  Thank you to teacher Elizabeth Magee and Barbara Glotfelty for another successful moment in an FLP class!
