“My goal was to live better,” writes LCNV learner Juana in her essay on why she decided to learn English. You can hear about all the ways LCNV learners are living better with English on June 21! Read Juana’s essay below:

“Hello my name is Juana. I am 58 years old. I am from Guatemala. I came to the U.S. to work for my family. One challenge I faced was finding a job. I did not know English. My sister lived in the U.S. My goal was to live better. English is hard to speak. I go to school [at LCNV] to learn English. Speaking a little English makes my days easier. [I will be] able to achieve my goals.”
